PINK IS IN THE PINK OF T.W. - PALE PINK A "late morning" visit from Uyea of T.W.'s owners. Uyea (a Charlie granddaughter born in November 2003) just crossed the Rainbow bridge a few days ago and they needed to open a new chapter. Charmed with the idea of another Charlie granddaughter, a real surprise. Uyea carried a pink collar too. |

An exhausting but satisfactory day.
The Vet arived at mid-day to microchip, evaluate and vaccinate the ten babies. they made life very hard for her trying to check their hearts with the wriggling around on the table and the noise of the others in the nursery. Finally it turned out to be easier to go outside with the puppy in her arms. They all passed their examination with flying colours (and most of her equipment flying onto the floor) and are now vaccinated and identified. I don't need to worry about missing collars any more.
For the first time all ten were together and after a short nap in a massive heap they had a good run-around in the jungle winding up O.P.I. (in season) and Poffy before coming in for a late lunch.
Tomorrow two are departing and one will be chosen for a friday departure. More leaving on friday, satuday and sunday.

7 Weeks / Semaines
The Lollypops are 7 weeks old today.
I took the photos yesterday because rain is on the menu for the next five days. At least.
Two hours of having fun in the sun, in the long grass which must be a jungle for them, getting filthy in pools of rainwater, discovering the adult dogs (and Mummy and Daddy) and wearing them out sufficiently to get a reasonablde "bench photo". It worked ! But I was more worn out than they were ! Thank the stars no-one was there to take a photo of me.
Super homogenity - which was on the cards in view of the pedigree. Lovely outgoing, balanced, happy little souls full of curiosity and fearing and suspicious of nothing atall. Just how I like them to be on their first outing - it's where you formulate your judgement of each one.
A bit plump so a slight alteration in the food consumption. They need to understand the difference between being round and being . . . ummmm . . . wide.

6 Weeks / Semaines
the LOLLYPOPS hit 6 weeks today. So it's weighing time and all is well. Wormed, weaned since yesterday and everyone is growing correctly.
Just two of the girls got to meet POFFY and discover the wild grass growing - Pale Blue and Turquoise. Hopefully, tomorrow, I'll find the time and the energy to get the other 4 out.
Poffy and Pale Blue became friends on FaceKennel. They both clicked on ❤️.

My pregnant Dogdaughter and her husband arrived pretty early on saturday and were both an incredible help between Jérôme mowing the grass, shifting the 2 whelping boxes out of the nursery and carrying bags of dog-food in, and Laure helping with the babies and trying to choose her little girl while we took some silly photos .
Little (BIG) RED is now back with her siblings and her biological mother. Finished the foster care. Many thanks Meggy.

Lollypop's babies at 18 days, less Miss RED collar still, for now, with Meggy. Not sure she's going to appreciate being banished back to her biological mother when I leave for Singapore next week. But they'll all be on egg-custard by then and probably grounded too so the change will be one of many.

All doing well. Five with their dam on the blue Vet-bed and little Red collar still with Meg (Red Vet-bed). Red is now 4th out of the six in weight which is remarkable after that bad start.
But I'll put little RED back with her biological mother when I leave for Singapore on April 9th so that should there be missing collars on my return (April 20th) there will be no question of making a mistake. In ten days they will change so much (egg custard and puppy food) that I may not recognise which is which and with their close relationship I'm not even sure that DNA testing would tell me. I presume her Mummy still loves her ! ❤️🤣❗️
Variation in colour depending on the light (flash or no flash) but most are a darker honey-coloured yellow as was Bubbles and as is Never Give Up.

The Lollypops are one week old this morning.
All is well. Little Red still needs boosting but is holding her own.
Pigmentation coming in well (not surprising when you check Lollypop's nose and Never's too).
They have a penchant for getting stuck under the "pig rails" and moaning to be delivered ! Another few days and I'll remove them.

At 1 a.m. came the 1st little girl and then a 2 hour wait for the 2nd little girl followed TWO minutes later by the . . . 3rd little girl. N°2 had a very strange placenta and I think that time was over-ripe for their birthing.
I finally gave Lollypop two 1,5 ml injections of Ocytocine which enabled me to recuperate the last puppies. Of course the very last puppy was posterior presentation and the biggest at 500 grams and there was I hanging on to her feet while Lollypop was doing everything she could to withdraw the puppy back inside her while fending me off. I finally won the battle.
